The Susan Whitley Memorial Exhibition 2025
The Susan Whitley Memorial Exhibition is an annual event to commemorate the life of Susan Whitley: a Home Economics teacher who sadly lost her life during the occupation and conflict of 1982. This was the 41st Susan Whitley Memorial Exhibition and was a true showcase of arts across the school.
Students have their work exhibited and judged by a professional artist, who decides which pieces are to be Highly Commended on the night. The entire community is invited, so that friends and family members can see the students' work, or just come to enjoy the wonderful exhibition. Students cook all of the food for the evening in their Food Technology lessons, and our talented artists and musicians perform on the night.
Art teacher and organiser of the event, Ms Fenwick, said: “It is such a lovely community event, demonstrating the best of the Falkland Islands and everyone coming together. It is a wonderful evening showcasing the talent of students across Art, DT, Music, Computer Science and English and it’s lovely that so many different subject areas have contributed this year.”
Principal Ms Marsh commented, “It's a phenomenal display of student talent across all of the performing arts. What a privilege it is to be able to share this with the whole community.”
Thank you to Ms Fenwick, Ms James, Ms Hill, Ms Noake, Mr Descombe, Mr Noake and Mr Freer for supporting students across subjects to produce such wonderful pieces and to all who contributed to the evening.
